I was delighted give my talk “Quilt Pattern Design and How to Make a Pattern Your Own” at Standish Quilters on 7 March 2024!
As well as covering the fundamentals of quilt pattern design, I gave various tips on how to make a quilt pattern your own. It was fun to explore these topics together and really enjoyed meeting Carolynne, Shelagh, Maureen and friends!
Standish Quilters meet on alternate Thursday afternoons and hold an exhibition every three years. Please take a look at the group’s website Standish Quilters to find out more.

Many thanks to Mary, Clare and friends for a wonderful evening. I really enjoyed giving my talk “An Introduction to Quilting” to Brereton Wives Group on 24 January 2024.
My talk included a brief history of quilting, and covered a variety of quilt types and techniques, illustrated with examples of both modern and antique quilts and projects.
My aim was to make it interesting for quilters and non-quilters alike - I was delighted that after my talk several members of the group feel inspired to try quilting for the first time!
A big thank you to Staffordshire Patchworkers & Quilters for inviting me to give my talk “An introduction to Flow Studio Designs Ltd” on 2 February 2023 at Chairman’s Hall, Walton Community Centre, Stone.
My thanks to Jane, Nicky and Mouse for making the arrangements and giving me such a warm welcome. I was delighted you enjoyed seeing my quilts and projects, and that you found it interesting hearing about my approach to quilt pattern design.
It was really helpful to get your views on options for my upcoming kits, thank you for your feedback. It was a pleasure to spend the evening with you all and I really enjoyed chatting with many of you afterwards.
We will keep in touch, and I look forward to your next exhibition. Wishing you happy sewing in the meantime!

Talks FOr Quilt Groups
We are delighted to be able to offer talks for quilt groups on a range of topics, from using reclaimed materials in quilts through design theory, and how to edit a pattern for a personalised finish.
If you are interested in having a talk for your quilt group, please get in touch as we would be very happy to tailor a presentation to suit your members.
Talks can be given in person in the UK, or online internationally. Typically, talk duration is one hour but this can be modified to suit your time slot.
